Results

The LIFE-IP Climate Adaptation programme is generating a considerable number of results. Below is an overview.

Expediting actions

• The “Monitoring plan“ describes how all projects under the LIFE-IP Climate Adaptation Programme will be monitored.  In it you will also find the monitoring strategy and monitoring protocol.  Based on this plan, the first monitoring report was published in December 2023.
• The “Strategy for knowledge dissemination“ sets out the opportunities and need for fostering the propagation of knowledge and experience in the field of climate adaptation.
• The “Communication strategy“ sets out how communication can help to expedite climate adaptation.
• The “Climate Adaptation Knowledge Agenda“ maps the climate adaptation knowledge and tools available in the Netherlands, specifying where such knowledge can be found and indicating any knowledge that is still missing.
• The document entitled “Action principles for collaboration on climate adaptation“ presents a host of practical tips on collaboration.

Awareness and sense of urgency

• In 2024, the network organisation Amsterdam Rainproof changed its name into Amsterdam Weatherproof. The organisation focuses not only on extreme precipitation, but also on extreme heat, drought and flood risks. The website has been expanded with theme pages where you can find information on the various themes, a risk map and a series of adaptation measures.
• The performance Heet hè! by theatre company Ouwe Rotten teaches the elderly to cope better with heat in a playful way.

Governance and integral approach

• The video 'Green-blue schoolyard' at primary school 'Het Schateiland' shows how the province of Utrecht stimulates green-blue schoolyards.
• “Vallei-Veluwe: naturally a diverse region“ paints a picture of the diversity in the Vallei-Veluwe natural system.
• “Evaluation of Utrecht Heat Plans“ outlines the lessons learned during the development of seven heat plans.
• The “Climate-resilient brook landscapes“ climate narrative shows how brook landscapes in the province of Brabant are being climate-proofed and future-proofed.
