Spatial climate agenda in Rheden
The municipality of Rheden has developed a spatial climate-change agenda. This agenda makes the consequences of climate change visible and describes a strategy to respond to the consequences of climate change. In this way, the municipality wants be become climate-resilient.
Results
The report describes the climate-induced effects of coastal/river flooding, pluvial flooding, drought, and hot weather on Rheden. These climate-induced effects are then combined with a landscape analysis of the soil, water, and green vegetation (Natural Alliance). This combination results in a map of vulnerabilities that sketch a picture of the climate-change challenges facing the municipality.
The exploration of the climate-change challenges covers the period running up to 2050. Rheden has developed a programme of spatial adaptation for the first five years. In this programme, attention is given to:
- Analysis: accumulation of knowledge and the accessibility of information;
- Ambition: policy, internal and external collaboration;
- Action: embedding, implementation programme, pilot projects.
