Twente Climate-Active City
The municipalities of Almelo, Enschede and Hengelo, the Vechtstromen district water board, and the province of Overijssel have joined forces as the KlimaatActieve Stad Twente [Twente Climate-Active City], in short KAS, in order to reduce the impact of climate change in (and around) the city.
The attached document (in Dutch) highlights several concrete projects. All of these projects feature a technically and socially innovative bottom-up approach, involving close collaboration with residents, companies, housing corporations, power companies, and knowledge institutes. The climate topic is continually connected to current societal developments in the spatial, physical, economic, and social domain.
