Greening at Lage Weide in Utrecht together with colleagues

Lage Weide Industrial Union / Park Management organised a Green Wall Business Day, together with the municipality of Utrecht and the Utrecht Nature and Environment Federation (NMU). That day, businesses greened the pavement in front of their buildings, together with colleagues and other entrepreneurs at the Lage Weide estate. The organisation made things as easy as possible for the participants. The businesses only needed to convince a few staff members to join. In addition to free plants and garden soil, the organisation provided tools, arranged for the removal of paving stones and sand, and recruited volunteers to help wherever necessary. Furthermore, the NMU helped draft a feasible greening plan. A get-together with drinks and snacks for all the participating businesses rounded off the day. Among other things, the greenery will enhance local biodiversity and provide additional cooling.
