  4. Cool Towns Heat Stress Measurement Protocol

Cool Towns Heat Stress Measurement Protocol

Over the period 2018 – 2020, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences has assisted several European regions and municipalities in mapping out the heat issues affecting their areas. To this end, they have been monitoring outdoor areas and measures for two years. Based on these efforts, they have developed a measuring protocol: the Cool Towns Heat Stress Measurement Protocol. This protocol guides users step by step through the process of conducting a full Thermal Comfort Assessment (TCA) at a street-level scale. Such an assessment provides a basis for the selection of heat-proofing measures.
