Unfamiliarity with the role that groundwater can play in realising ambitions may be one of the reasons for the lack of attention to groundwater in spatial planning procedures. Spatial plans, such as spatial visions and zoning plans, leave quite a bit of room for improvement when it comes to promoting groundwater interests.
The exchange of best practices / practical knowledge is an efficient way to involve groundwater in municipal spatial visions. To this end, the website provides information on putting groundwater interests on the agenda, and offers instruments, model texts, and guidelines. These components have been elaborated into a factsheet for seven groundwater sub-issues.
