Spatial Adaptation Incentive Programme
Climate-proofing the Netherlands and embedding climate-resilient action into policies and working processes poses quite a challenge. Climate-proof spatial planning requires efforts from a wide range of public and private partners. Spatial adaptation must become a matter of course when planning physical interventions in urban or rural areas. The Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation is fostering this goal under its “Promotion and Facilitation” ambition. This ambition has been translated into the Spatial Adaptation Incentive Programme. In order to give impetus to the efforts, it is essential for the available knowledge, tools, and experience to be shared on as wide a scale as possible. This obviates the need for everyone to re-invent the wheel and encourages parties to do their part.
