Toolbox for Active Groundwater Level Management

Active Groundwater Level Management is a system that can help reduce fluctuations in groundwater levels. It can be used to prevent excessively high or low groundwater levels. The toolbox helps municipal staff and other professionals to incorporate Active Groundwater Level Management in decisions on sewer renovations. Furthermore, the toolbox helps with the implementation of Active Groundwater Level Management.

How can it be used?

The toolbox can be used to resolve groundwater level issues. To this end, the toolbox offers an overview of technological requirements, legal aspects, required local knowledge, and points for discussion. It also contains a tutorial, an infographic, and a model FAQ to aid the communication with local residents.

Who has developed the toolbox?

The Toolbox for Active Groundwater Level Management has been developed by the Dutch Soil Subsidence and Foundations Knowledge Centre KBF, with support from the National Foundation Issues Strategy (NAF) of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO.
