How can we adapt?

We have two ways to limit the consequences of climate change. Firstly, we can address the cause by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, thus mitigating further climate change. Secondly, we can adapt to climate change, for example by implementing spatial planning measures. It is these adaptations that this knowledge portal is all about.

What information is provided on these pages?

The following pages explain how you can draw up plans and take measures at various levels to adapt your environment to the consequences of climate change.

  • Island-level adaptation
  • Community-level adaptation
  • Resident-level adaptation

This knowledge portal features an overview of tools for embarking on climate adaptation. Some of these tools may not be entirely suitable for use in the Caribbean part of the Netherlands, but they can offer inspiration, nonetheless.
